QRBIT Launches QRBITLink: Mission Planning Software for Satellite QKD

We are excited  to announce the official launch of QRBITLink, our web-based platform for planning and forecasting satellite-to-ground Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) links, developed under the ESA BIC Greece incubation programme.

As Europe builds the space segment of its quantum communication infrastructure (EuroQCI), mission teams need to know early how much secure key a satellite can deliver to a given ground station, and how often. QRBITLink answers this by modelling the complete quantum link, from orbit and atmosphere to telescope, detector and protocol. It returns the secret key rate, QBER and distilled key volume for every satellite pass.

Key Features:

  • Any satellite, any ground station: track any active satellite in LEO, MEO or GEO, and pick an optical ground station from our catalogue or define your own anywhere in the world.
  • Realistic channel and receiver modelling: geometric and pointing loss, atmospheric absorption, turbulence and background noise, with SPAD, SNSPD or custom detectors at 1550 nm and 810 nm.
  • Protocol-level performance: efficient decoy-state BB84 with finite-key analysis, with entanglement-based BBM92 coming soon.
  • 5-day pass forecasting: a per-pass results dashboard with key rate, QBER, distilled key volume and AES-256 key count.
  • Ready-to-use outputs: more than 40 inputs and 25 outputs, downloadable as CSV data and a PDF report.
